Mini Day (U6) and Welcome Back (U7/U8), Sunday 9th March 2014

Registrations are still open but the teams are filling up fast!
This Sunday we will be holding the above event on the All Weather Hockey field, so we can avoid any grounds closure by the council affecting us. So please do NOT wear boots, only runners or cross trainers, if you wear boots you will not be allowed on the field. Please also ensure your child is wearing shinpads so to avoid injury. Unfortunately if your child is not wearing shin pads they are unable to participate. This is purely for safety reasons. Shin pads can be purchased at the ground.
NB: There will be a BBQ, Raffles, and introducing The Rovers Barista who will be serving coffee, tea and hot chocolate. So please bring along some money.

Purchased gear can also be collected (just bring your receipt) or bought on the day. The club is also offering a special deal on a Backpack and Training shirt with name on it for $50 (RRP $65), pre-season deal, only available on Sunday.

Only in extreme weather conditions will the grading be cancelled, so please assume if you don’t hear from the club, then grading is ON.
Time and Place
9:15am to 12:45pm Ku-ring-gai Hockey Centre, Ku-ring-gai High School, Bobbin Head Rd

  • U6 – 9:15am to 10:15am (All new U6’s to the club will receive a FREE Ball)
  • U7 – 10:30am to 11:30am
  • U8 – 11:45am to 12:45pm

Birth Certificates
If you are new to the club could you please bring along a copy of your birth certificate for us to sight. This is an association requirement.
Team Coaches and Managers
If you have indicated a willingness to be a coach when you registered we will be calling you out on the day to help run the drills. You will be provided with instruction by Kickstart (who run our Thursday regular training), and there will be committee members around to assist.
If no coach is available on the day then the club does expect that parent helpers will put their hand up to help the kids through the drills. If there is no parent helper available this means the kids will not be able to participate.
We will be calling out names and sorting the kids into their teams for the season. These can be viewed on the website now.
PLEASE ensure you arrive on time as late arrivals can be disruptive and it is extremely difficult to find a team once the drills have started and you have up to 50 kids running around.
The age-coordinators will be there should you need to talk to them.
Football Boot Donations
Do you have any old soccer boots that you no longer wear? Then please give them to us! We have teamed up with John Moriarty Football and will be collecting your old soccer boots in February/March at the Info/Grading/Mini and Welcome back to the club days as detailed above.
Please make sure they are still in good condition, brushed clean and tied together.
John Moriarty Football (JMF) is a world’s best practice football initiative for primary school aged Indigenous boys and girls. Founded by the first Indigenous Socceroo, John Moriarty, JMF’s goals are twofold: to provide the support, training, development and pathways for Indigenous football to succeed in Australia and to use the sport as a powerful tool to change educational and life outcomes for Indigenous footballers and their families.
Looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday.
