How to vote at Special General Meeting

Dear Club Members,

To follow is some important information relating to the upcoming Special General Meeting (SGM) where we will vote on the proposed merger of our Club with Wahroonga Football Club.

When and where is the meeting?

The SGM will be held at 7:30 pm on Monday 13th November at Turramurra Bowling Club, 181 Bobbin Head Road.

Who can vote?

Members of the Club can vote. This means:

  • Registered players over 18 years old, and
  • Parents of registered players under 18 years old

How can I vote?

Voting can be done either:

  • in person by attending the SGM, or
  • by appointing a proxy who is attending the SGM to vote on your behalf

How do I appoint a proxy?

You can appoint another member to be your proxy by completing a proxy appointment form:

https://bannockburnrovers.com.au/wp-content/uploads/BRFC-SGM-Proxy-form.pdf

This must be completed, signed and sent to [email protected] no later than 7:30 pm on Sunday 12th November 2017.

Your proxy will vote on your behalf so ensure you appoint someone who intends to vote as you would.

How many proxies can a person hold?

A person may hold a maximum of five (5) proxies.

How many votes can I cast at the SGM?

You are entitled to one vote for each of the following:

  • one as a player (if you are a registered adult player), and/or
  • one for each of your children who are registered players under the age of 18, and
  • one for each person who has appointed you as proxy (up to a maximum of five)

Can both parents of a registered child player attend the SGM?

Yes, both parents can attend but only one may vote for the child.

What are we voting on?

There are seven special resolutions relating to the merger of Bannockburn Rovers with Wahroonga to be voted on. You can read them again here: https://bannockburnrovers.com.au/wp-content/uploads/Resolutions.pdf

How will the vote be passed?

75% or more of the votes at the SGM are required to be in favour for the special resolutions to be passed.

I still have questions, who can I ask?

There will be very limited time for questions on the night of the SGM, so if you have questions about the planned merger or the voting process please send them to [email protected] before the meeting.

We look forward to seeing you on the night.
